Cuisines:
I grew up in a multicultural home—my dad is from Prague, my mom is from Colombia, and our family is spread across the globe. My husband is Puerto Rican and Italian, so you can imagine how much variety we have around the table!
My recipes reflect how I cook in real life: with lots of flavor and inspiration from all over. Growing up in New York, surrounded by such a rich blend of cultures, I’ve always been drawn to global cuisine. You’ll find everything from American comfort food to Czech and European classics, Latin and Caribbean flavors, restaurant copycats, and international favorites in my cooking.

Why I Started Skinnytaste
I started Skinnytaste in 2008 while trying to lose weight for my wedding and cook healthier meals for myself and my family. I wanted to create recipes that were lighter—but still full of flavor, satisfying, and made with real, wholesome ingredients.
What began as a personal journey has grown into a trusted resource for anyone looking to eat well without giving up the foods they love. Whether you’re focused on eating more protein, tracking macros, or simply trying to feel your best, my goal is to make healthy eating realistic, delicious, and sustainable.
Features & Media
My work has been featured in magazines, online publications, and on both local and national television. I’ve appeared on Good Morning America, The Today Show, and Fox.
Skinnytaste has also been spotlighted in Woman’s World, Cooking Light, Shape, Women’s Health, Better Homes & Gardens, Tasting Table, and more.
The Skinnytaste Community
I’m also proud to host the Raptive Skinnytaste Community, a vibrant and supportive space where home cooks can share their wins, ask questions, and find inspiration from one another. It’s been incredible watching this community grow, connect, and celebrate the joy of cooking together. If you haven’t joined yet—come hang out with us!
Fun Facts
- I have two girls, a husband, and a dog—my toughest (and most honest!) taste testers.

- We live on the water and love spending time outdoors—boating, clamming, crabbing, or just relaxing on the beach.
- Travel and eating are two of my biggest passions, and many of my recipes are inspired by dishes I’ve tried around the world.
- Before launching Skinnytaste full-time, I worked as a professional digital photo retoucher for major clients like Apple and Lancôme.
